EvadX have fabricated and erected 220 tonnes of structural steelwork
for a building in Trafford Park for main contractor Mowlem plc. The
building is a warehouse and storage facilty with two-storey offices at
the front.
The steelwork is a hi-tech design with the roof formed from curved
cellular beams and tapered plate girder sections bolted at each end
with pin joint connections at the head of the main columns, which are
also cellular.
The building is approximately 80m long with a 42m single rafter span
with an overhang of 2m at each side at the eaves and 13m high to the
apex. The office block is 12 x 10m at the front of the building.
